Need WP in 64 Bit version

I am personally working with increasingly large and complex document files due to index codes but primarily due to incorporating numerous digital illustrations directly into the text (I used to print a whole book out and paste in the drawings, but now I am inserting them right into the text). this is great but WP has a hard time handling these files. I MUST turn off auto-save or WP tends to freeze while auto-saving. this occurs especially if I am typing when the save begins. I manually and frequently save files as I work. I recently upgraded my computer solely in the hope that it would help WP handle these files. I doubled my DDR4 RAM from 16 to 32 GB. I got a new, more sophisticated graphics card which took me from 2 GB on the card to 6. I got a new PCI3 M.2 SSD and that has really made a huge difference in how WP can handle these files. However, on my most dense files it STILL, at times, goes into a second to a few seconds of not responding mode when I manually save. When I do save I cannot do anything else on the keyboard. WP does go back to normal from not responding and does save the file. This problem was happening to a much greater extent prior to these upgrades. Before beginning work, I clear out temp, %temp%, and prefetch files and sometimes I do this a few times a day as well. I am also running WPLook on every file I intend to work on every day, as these files are quite old with ongoing revisions (some started as far back as 1986) so if there are problems I can catch them asap. All that helps. I think it would help a lot too if you would release WP in a 64 bit version, as that would give the app access to more RAM. PLEASE DO THIS FOR US. I have used WP since about 1985. Although I have WORD I do not use it for daily work. I love WP. Please make it so I can continue to use it with these large files. Time to bring WP into the 21st century with 64 Bits. (Word has been available in 64 bit for a while.)

Yes, WP is not up-to-date, it looks very old-fashioned, and sometimes, it doesn't work very smoothly

For what it's worth, I would be HAPPY to pay for an upgrade to WordPerfect 64.

Approximately 12 months ago, I decided not to buy another WP "upgrade" until WP became 64-bit! That is how important 64-bit is, to me!

In a world of growing graphics plus video usage, and given that WP competitors have made the leap to a 64-bit platform, by not doing similar, WP makes itself increasingly irrelevant/obsolete.

Sadly, my books were getting so big that I had to switch over to another company's 64-bit word processor! (Not Word!)

I preferred using WP, but, hey!...I tried convincing Corel that WP had to become 64-bit!

In the end, though, I could no longer wait for positive action and had to do what I had to do!

    Sad!

With the Ability of WordPerfect as it is today, there truly needs to be a few things that need to be added to ALL Corel Products ! The ability to have a quick tool button on the Toolbars to dump cache ! As opposed to us having to manually type in that function you give us to do ! Its an old antiquated technique that technically can be added as a button for us to use so we don't have to open the command feature to make the cache dump happen. Also, there is absolutely no reason for WordPerfect to freeze during saving ! This is an old antiquated feature that happened to be a basic function of WordStar eons ago. It was done to prevent losing information during saving. But with today and how RAM works today in storage ability and quick access functions of passing data to and from RAM or flash drives or external drives there is no Reason for WordPerfect to freeze as it does during saving files or updating a backup version or save version. There is no excuse. WordPerfect needs to be updated as well as all Corel Products and move forward ahead of where MS Office is today. My biggest problem with VideoStudio series is the cache isn't able to be easily cleared after editing and when editing is done. There needs to be a button in VideoStudio that clears ALL CACHE MEMORY OF WHAT I DID WHEN I NO LONGER NEED THAT CACHE SAVED. This includes what files I edited prior. If I want a certain project to be remembered of what I edited earlier then I can have leave that project as needed in the cache memory. But if I no longer need that project remembered then I need to have that option of clicking a button and that project and all its data wiped. This will free up the computer memory and help keep the computer healthy !

Just wanted to add that I changed all my images from BMP format to PNG, which are MUCH smaller files. Translation to PNG does not sacrifice any quality. I wanted to post this because others may not know this. Having done this my files are 100s of megabytes smaller and WP is handling these doc files much better, esp. given the hardware upgrades I added as mentioned in my original post. However, I am still not using auto-backup and I am still clearing out temp files, usually at least twice a day. AND I still would like to see a 64 bit version. I am delighted to see that it is being planned!
