I started with a document that was 34 pages long. I had all the pictures, wording etc. exactly as i wanted. I printed it on a HP1016 printer and it seemed to format perfectly. However, when I attempted to print the document in a color printer the formatting changed and it did not keep the pages in the order I wanted. I ended up with a 38 page document. Once a page or document is formatted it should stay that way and not change.Douglas A Cooper
There's a also setting which switches re-formatting a document while opening it off.
Every printer has different margins or bleed areas. To get a static document, publish to PDF.
