The most glaringly absent function in WordPerfect is Optical Character Recognition (OCR). That “other company” has its OneNote and there are laterally “oodles” of others available, some free and some not. My personal favorite right now is the SNAGIT Editor. It has amazing accuracy. The built-in OCR function with the online program Newspapers.com is very good as well, but limited to its use within the database. So, the technology exists and Corel can either develop its own or license it, Why it doesn’t do so escapes me as it would be a valuable addition to an otherwise “almost Perfect” product (pardon the pun).
WP has OCR in its open pdf function. It has had it for some time and works pretty well. I just upgraded to WP21 from WP9 and see that the function no longer allows you to specify certain pages, or range of pages, in the pdf file to convert. This is a definite degradation.
